MDH - Radiotelephones was established in 1977 by Mr.M.D.Hunt. He was granted the first two way radio repeater station
licence in Wales by the Home Office now OFCOM.
The product range was broadened in the early 80's, by gaining the sole importer rights to two way radio and repeater
accessories for other radio dealerships throughout the UK, from the Selectone Corporation in Hayward California and Connect
Systems Inc., from Ventura California.
In 1988 MDH became a partnership and moved to Wales, where they diversified
into designing and manufacturing wireless security and safety products.
In 1996 MDH were awarded a Welsh Office
grant to design and develop our first security concept, the "Zone Cone".
From this the "Zone" wireless
alarm system was developed which responds to perimeter motion detectors, and then sends an identity code to a distant private
central security monitoring station, up to 10 miles away. A mobile security guard can then be deployed to the location of
the incident promptly.
Various designs were produced for several government agencies and a contract was won to manufacture a 'Remote Tank Target
Mover' for Castle Martin Army Camp based in Pembrokeshire.
It wasquickly realized there was a need in the market
for these battery powered wireless security and safety products.
The "Guard Alert" GA receiver-display unit,
now called the
121Sentry enables the owner to respond to an alert from a motion sensor, smoke detector or hand panic transmitter as each has
its own identity.
This concept was quickly taken on by local junior schools, and numeric key fob transmitters
were developed for the teachers to use, so help could be summoned without leaving the classroom.
The security
range has been expanded to include the mr
Sentry system and the gate
Sentry alert for premises with driveways and as an on site security
and safety system.
